This policy describes how Windshield Estimate ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use our website and estimator service. By using the site, you agree to the practices described here.

Information we collect

When you use the estimator, we collect the information you provide:

Vehicle details: ZIP code, VIN or year/make/model/trim, body class, glass type, damage description.
Glass features: ADAS, HUD, rain sensor, heated wiper park, condensation sensor, insurance/cash preference, mobile/in-shop preference.
Contact information: name, phone, email.
Form context: referring page, UTM parameters, timestamps, your selected market.

We also collect basic usage data automatically:

Analytics: Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity record page views, click events, and anonymized session recordings.
Advertising attribution: Google Ads conversion tracking and CallRail (for phone-call attribution to ad sources).
Security: Cloudflare Turnstile (anti-bot) and Cloudflare network logs for abuse prevention.

How we use your information

Connect you with a local KC-metro auto-glass shop who can quote and perform the work.
Generate and email you a copy of your estimate.
Operate, secure, and improve the site (analytics, abuse prevention).
Measure paid-advertising performance.

Who we share your information with

Your matched local shop. The shop receives your contact, vehicle, glass details, damage description, and quote range so they can call you with a firm price.
Service providers we use to run the site: Cloudflare (hosting + bot mitigation), Airtable (lead storage), Resend (email delivery), Google (Analytics, Ads, Tag Manager), Microsoft (Clarity), CallRail (call attribution).
Windshield Estimate's owner is copied on every operator notification for service-quality monitoring.
Legal compliance. If required by subpoena, court order, or law.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising beyond the analytics and ad-attribution providers listed above.

Data retention

Lead submissions (the form data and contact info you provide) are retained for 24 months for service quality and dispute resolution, then purged. Analytics data is retained per the relevant provider's defaults (typically 14-26 months at Google Analytics 4). Cloudflare network logs are retained for 7 days.

Cookies and trackers

The site uses essential cookies (session, security) and optional cookies (analytics, advertising). On your first visit you'll see a cookie banner — declining disables Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity, and ad-attribution cookies. The site remains fully functional with cookies declined.

Phone and SMS communications

By submitting the estimator form, you authorize Windshield Estimate and our matched KC-metro auto-glass partner shop to contact you by phone, SMS, or email about your quote and scheduling. Standard message and data rates may apply.

To opt out of SMS from a partner shop, reply STOP to any text from that shop. To opt out of all future emails from us, email [email protected] with "Unsubscribe" in the subject line.

Your rights (US residents, including California)

You have the right to:

Know what personal information we have about you.
Request a copy of that information.
Request correction of inaccurate information.
Request deletion of your information (subject to legal retention requirements).
Opt out of any future communications.
California residents: exercise rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to direct us not to sell or share your personal information. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Children's information

This site is intended for adults arranging auto-glass services. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a minor has submitted information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We use industry-standard safeguards (TLS in transit, access controls on our backend, anti-bot challenges on the form). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot ensure absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our practices change. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be noted in a banner on the site for 30 days.
